Canberra Casino has reopened a revamped gaming floor following an investment of A$14m with a new style of multi-game terminal that allows players to switch between games and bet on more than one game at once.
The casino’s owners Aquis Entertainment has completely remodelled the casino inside and out with brand new gaming tables and a 50-seat digital Multi Terminal gaming stadium. The casino now boasts the Onyx Lounge, Chandelier Bar, the Natural 9 restaurant and The Lotus Room which offers a dedicated Poker parlour and sports bar.
Canberra Casino Manager Rhiannon Bach, said the casino used to be one of the worst she had ever seen but said it was now ‘unrecognisable’ from what it used to be.
She said it now had the ‘potential’ to create a space ‘worthy of the nation’s capital.’
Aquis has even bigger plans for Canberra, having lodged a $307m redevelopment request with the ACT Government. It wants to turn the casino, which until this recent transformation was only allowed to offer table gaming, into an integrated resort development with more leisure and night life with new bars, restaurants and a luxury shopping mall.

Aquis is aiming to open the restyled casino in 2018, with the highest structure being 20 storeys high.

GGR at Casino Canberra remained solid during May reaching $1,562,749. It is waiting for the final approval to introduce 200 slot machines at the venue.
